WHO WE ARE:

We are the EMS Angels MC of Pennsylvania, Chapter 13. So you ask….what does that mean? First of all ----- We are in NO WAY a 1% club.

We are group of CPR and/ or First Aid trained, First Responders, EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, Physicians, Firefighters and Police Officers who get together to have a good time. You just need one of those "titles" to qualify to become a member. Yes, we are a motorcycle club and all types of bikes are welcomed.

Chapter 13 - We chartered in October 2008, we are designated Chapter 13 since this area is also considered Region 13 (Southwestern Pennsylvania Emergency Response Group). This designation is also recognized in the biker communities as the Mother Chapter of the organization.

Our membership is spread throughout Western Pennsylvania with members living in DuBois to New Kensington to Washington (PA) and everywhere in between. We currently have over 30 members and are the most active chapter within the EMS Angels MC organization.

Our patch depicts St. Michael over the Star of life and with a caduceus entwined around him. St. Michael the Archangel is the patron saint of police, firefighters and EMS personnel. In Catholicism, St. Michael is the defender, the bearer of truth and the avenger of wrong. He is often depicted in art and history as bearing a sword or a staff. He wields the sword and staff against the devil and evil. He is usually perceived as a winged angel with either staff or sword raised and ready for battle. Our patch depicts the angel with a hidden face but with wings and staff raised. He is standing before the star of life, the traditional symbol of paramedicine. The six arms represent Detection, Reporting, Response, On-Scene Care, Care in Transit and Delivery to Definitive Care. Two of the arms are morphed into cylinders, representative of care in transport. The angel is positioned behind the caduceus, the traditional symbol of healing and medicine. The Caduceus in classic Greek mythology refers to the staff of Hermes who was the God of messages, alchemy and the deliverer of the dead to the underworld. The U.S. Army was the first ones to depict the staff with medicine in 1902 when it was made to depict the Army Medical Corps. The classic staff of medicine is the Staff of Asclepius of the god Asclepius, son of Apollo. Both have contributed to the standard interpretation of the two snakes (or one) wrapped around a pole as being a symbol of healing. Our patch is surrounded by our club name EMS Angels and our club region, top and bottom respectively.

We have meetings the 2nd Wednesday of every month and try to move them around so that all of our members get a chance to have a meeting close to their home.

We are available to help out with any function you may be having and are willing to show our supposed in any way possible. Just feel free to contact us at EMSAngelsMCPA@verizon.net or through our website at www.EMSAngelsMCPA.com
